First, skim through the text and get a rough idea as to what the text is about. Read the questions to find out what kind of information is required. Then, scan the text for the information you need.
In order to answer the questions well, you should have the following skills:

- Scanning and skimming.
- Distinguishing facts from opinions.
- Identifying main idea sentences and supporting details.
- Making inferences and drawing conclusions.
- Paraphrasing.
- Summarising.
- Identifying author's attitude and tone.
- Interpreting non-linear texts.
